When thinking back to his early days at Heuft, Günter Schneider cannot but smile. He entered the Heuft factory gate for the very first time on the 10 October 1970 at the tender age of sixteen. The hall in which he works today was not yet built at the time. Apart from him, there were another three new apprentices, and seven trainees in their final year. It was the heyday of the Vulkan® Thermo-Oel oven. “I am very proud of having been closely involved with the development of the first Vulkan Thermo-Oel oven,” says Günter Schneider. At the time, Thermo-Oel technology was widely considered a fad. Today, it is seen as a revolutionary and highly successful technology in baking. In many circles the name Heuft has become synonymous with Thermo-Oel technology. “We have achieved a lot, and I have seen many changes over the last 45 years. One thing however has remained the same, and that’s the friendly working environment at Heuft, where we are just like a family.”
