Jens Jung is a charismatic Swiss master baker who founded his company John Baker in Zurich in 2013. He defies any kind of rigid categorisation and runs his business completely in line with his own personal philosophy.
Sustainability means a lot to him, and it goes without saying that he rejects the use of any kind of convenience products. Only organic and Demeter-certified raw materials are used in the baking process. Instead of three to four hours, dough preparation extends over nearly a whole day before the bread goes into the oven. The results are outstanding.
Located in Zurich city centre, Jens Jung’s bakery also very much carries its owner’s thumbprint in the form of an individual design that is far removed from the mainstream.
