Malcolm North founded his own bakery in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1976. His trademark for his bread products was to place a 35 mm square Label on each dough piece, and people came to know this “Norths” baked on the bread label as a seal of quality.
Today Malcolm North, the owner of Pandoro Panetteria, is considered in the baking industry to be one of the most outstanding wholesale and retail suppliers for Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton and other regions of the north island.
In 2006, Malcolm starting toying with the idea of changing his ovens, as he had heard of a new system which was being produced in Germany specifically for the types of breads and bread products he was producing. That system was the Heuft Thermo-Oel system.
Malcolm decided to contact us in order to learn more about it. His opening line? “I heard you are building the best Thermo-Oel ovens in the world, can you confirm?”
To confirm this himself he travelled with his wife Alana to Germany and visited our factory, and several bakeries that were already successfully working with THERMO-OEL system for some years. In 2009 they made their first purchase.
And what do the North’s think today about their decision then? This is what he wrote to us a while ago: us “…our bakers love your ovens, so much so that we are keen to purchase more.”
So in 2016 four additional ovens were installed in his bakery.
